Alternatives Unlimited Tutoring uses an interactive, hands-on pedagogical approach. While individualized instruction focuses on helping students develop and strengthen the fundamental math and/or language arts skills necessary for academic success in all content areas, the tutoring instruction and activities target the skill sets that the student’s assessment and diagnostic data indicate they have not yet mastered.

| AU Tutoring uses interactive and hands-on pedagogy and focuses on the skills where the students need additional help as determined by the state tests, AU Tutoring diagnostic test and teacher input. In reading, Alternatives Unlimited Tutoring can help students master the basic skills of phonics and assist them in making meaning from text by connecting what is read and what is already known. In mathematics the students use manipulatives and other tools to better understand math ideas and be able to apply them in problem solving. |
