Alternatives Unlimited Tutoring helps children improve their skills in reading, English, language arts, and/or mathematics by providing individual and small-group instruction. AU Tutoring uses interactive and hands-on pedagogy and focuses on the skills where the students need additional help as determined by the state tests, AU Tutoring diagnostic test and teacher input.

Alternatives Unlimited utilizes an aligned resource called iTargetTeach Fundamentals to ensure high student achievement / standards and mastery of various concepts. |
| iTargetTeach provides educators with instructional resources tied to New Jersey standards-based mastery and success. In addition, the iTargetTeach system can generate assessment data that identifies students’ needs and planning / pacing tools to support activities for students, teachers, and parents. The alignment of the tutorial with classroom instruction is key to improving academic performance in school/district and state tests.Alternatives Unlimited will use specific assessments written that test basic skills needed as prerequisites to NJ state standards. |

In reading, Alternatives Unlimited Tutoring can help students master the basic skills of phonics and assist them in making meaning from text by connecting what is read and what is already known. In mathematics the students use manipulatives and other tools to better understand math ideas and be able to apply them in problem solving. |
